Mike Vance, who is tied for 7th in the TR with a 2.25 ERA, was in top form in a tight contest between The Stinging and Wichita. The Larvae right-hander helped his team beat the Storm, 3-0. Ricky Urdiales closed it out for his 13th save. The losses continue to add up for Wichita, having now dropped 8 straight.

The win was credited to Vance. He raised his season record to 4-0. In 8.1 innings of work, Vance gave up no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 13. The Storm never could get a clutch hit when they needed it.

Wichita manager Brandon Ashley, after yet another defeat, said: "Guys need to step up. Pronto."
