Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Predator Park.

The Sedona Sabercats downed the Paradise Island Pirates, 7-5, in 10 innings at Predator Park. The Sabercats were led by Mario Aguirre. Aguirre was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Jose Valdez. He is now 8-10. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Jesse Meyers came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Paradise Island pitcher Yamada Anteau, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Sedona on top, 7-5.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Meyers.

The Sabercats saw their win-loss record go to 50-73. At the same time, the Pirates fell to 86-37.
