Paradise Island Makes Yuma 9-3 Losers
Paradise Island shortstop Dan Wooten contributed significantly to his team's 9-3 win over the Yuma Varmits. Wooten, who is tied for 5th in the TR in hits with 68, went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Pirates. Paradise Island pitcher Tony Carnero got the win. He's now 2-0. Victor de Leon was tagged with the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Mario Castellanos.

John Welcome had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Paradise Island. With the bases loaded and the Pirates leading 2-1, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Wooten.

The Pirates are now 38-13.
