In a low-scoring affair between the Paradise Island Pirates and the Yuma Varmits, pitcher Sean Meloche was the difference between victory and defeat. The Paradise Island right-hander earned kudos in the 3-1 Pirates win. The Pirates saw their win-loss record go to 39-13. At the same time, the Varmits fell to 21-31.

Meloche was effective for Paradise Island, seldom allowing the Varmits to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 101 pitches over 7.2 innings. He limited Yuma to just 1 run on 4 hits.

"It feels good to get this one," Meloche told the Paradise Island Daily.
