A 4-RBI performance from the 19-year old catcher Mario Gonzlez helped the Savannah Peaches beat the Rosewell Tribbles, 5-4. Savannah reliever Sergio Rangel picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jerry Nuncio was tagged with the loss. With this game in the books, Savannah is 73-54, Rosewell 83-44.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Savannah trailing 4-2, Gonzlez jumped on a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Jerry Nuncio and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Peaches had a walk-off win.

Gonzlez said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
