With third baseman Yodo Hamamoto leading the charge, the Havana Stogies defeated the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 9-4, at Field de Los Layendas. Hamamoto, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2059 draft, was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Franklin Cruz, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 6-5. Picking up his 20th save was two-time All-Star Andy Schutt.

Havana designated hitter Tommy Ivester contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 127th hit of the season and put the Stogies ahead, 4-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ivester. "And not try to do too much."

The third-place Stogies bumped their record to 49-49.
