Frobisher Bay shortstop Kazushige Kawada was a significant contributor in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Thunder Bay Lighting. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Caribou. The first-place Caribou, at 102-33, now lead their division by 15½ games.

Bill Nelson delivered a big hit for Frobisher Bay. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Caribou ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Caribou manager Lao Lo, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
