Win Streak Now at 11 for Nutcrackers
The Normal Nutcrackers handed the Sedona Sabercats a 6-3 defeat at The Lair at Sabercat Field. First Baseman Carlos Villarreal starred for Normal. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mario Abundis picked up his 21st save of the season. Now 73-63, Normal has won 11 consecutive games.

There was more than one reason the Nutcrackers beat the Sabercats, but Villarreal's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-3 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"The clubhouse vibe is great," said Normal manager Juan Colo.
