Marauders Come Back Late to Top Millers, 5-3
|
Milwaukee got a valiant performance from pitcher Drew Young, but it wasn't enough to beat the Maple Marauders. Maple won the game, 5-3. Young threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Maple reliever Brandon Anderson was the winner. His record is now 5-1. Doug Michael took the loss. The Marauders, at 44-54, sit in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League East Division.
Chris Black came through with a big-time hit for Maple. The right fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Black.
