The Walnut Creek Warriors defeated the Vancouver Pioneers, 10-3. Doing his part was first baseman Kevin McArdle, who went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. With the victory, the Warriors record stands at 57-29.

Walnut Creek used a clutch at-bat from Mario Rodriguez to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Warriors ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Walnut Creek manager Miguel de la Rosa. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
