Almost There: Chicago On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 6-2 Win
The Chicago Eclipse moved to within one game of the Divisional Round, downing the West Island Jazz on the road at Stade Claude Raymond by a score of 6-2. Eclipse left-hander Alberto Calderon had a strong outing. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Eclipse a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Round.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Jason Shannon to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Said losing manager Pedro Gonzáles: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stade Claude Raymond in Montreal.
