Vancouver Tops Hawaii, 6-2, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
|
Hawaii had trouble with Vancouver starter Mark Tanner, who frustrated Honu hitters, as the Pioneers cruised to victory, 6-2, in Game 3 of the Wild Card Round. The Pioneers now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the right-handed Tanner, who controlled Hawaii throughout the contest and threw 8.1 innings of 3-hit ball.
Tanner, the Vancouver right-hander, went 8.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. He collected 15 strikeouts.
"Mark did a good job of managing their lineup," said Vancouver manager Lemn Onkwani.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, October 22nd , 2065.
