Arevalo Helps Seattle Take Wild Card Round Game 1
|
The Seattle Sasquatch started the Wild Card Round in style, downing the visiting Hawaii Honu at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium by a score of 9-7 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Sasquatch center fielder Carlos Arevalo went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Raul Navarro was at the plate when Seattle scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Sasquatch to go in front, 8-7.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Arevalo.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium in Seattle.
