Luchadores Lose to Eclipse, 2-1
|
The Chicago Eclipse earned a close win over the Mexico City Luchadores, thanks in part to Nick Leicht. The Chicago right-hander, who finished 5th in the RCL in wins with 15 in 2062, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The Eclipse improved to 59-41.
The Luchadores had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Eclipse going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old third baseman Dan Moran came to the plate. Moran hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Mexico City hurler Sander Rademakers. It was Moran's 36th double of the year.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Leicht after the game.
