de Jong Blasts Caribou, Pirates Take Game 6, 7-3
The Paradise Island Pirates and the Frobisher Bay Caribou will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Pirates beat the Caribou, 7-3, at Pittodrie Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Paradise Island pinch hitter Tom de Jong was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

There was more than one reason the Pirates beat the Caribou, but de Jong's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 6-2 lead when he hit a grand slam home run.

"Solid performance from our side," said Pirates manager Jorge Ávila.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pittodrie Stadium in Timmins.
