Black Bears Clip Hitmen, 2-1, in R1 Contest
The Thunder Bay Black Bears got a strong game from starter Gilberto Velazquez, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Black Bears took the 2-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen in Game 4 of the Triple A League Championship in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Velazquez. Velazquez threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball in the win, which brought the Black Bears into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Thunder Bay got a knockout punch from Andy Bowers. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I like to lead by example," said Velazquez. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Edgbaston in Thunder Bay.
