Double A League Championship Game 1 Goes to Wauwatosa, Thanks to Thompson
The Wauwatosa Indians started the Double A League Championship in style, downing the visiting Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters at Albert Park by a score of 7-6 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Indians shortstop David Thompson went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Had Jose Arredondo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Arredondo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Indians.

"We lost," Niagara Falls manager Bryant Thomas said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Albert Park in Wauwatosa.
