The Eureka Hornets are one game away from a sweep of the San Francisco Earthquakes after a road win at Golden Gate Park, 4-3. Hornets right-hander Bobby Loscalzo had a strong outing. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Eureka now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Pennant.

Julio Rivera came through with a big-time hit for Eureka. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We lost," San Francisco manager Bill DesMarais said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
