The Thunder Bay Lighting managed to get by the Manchester Mooses, 3-2, at Lightning Grove. Thunder Bay pitcher Manny Serrano set himself apart with his performance. Juan Valdez picked up the save for Thunder Bay, his 12th of the year. Thunder Bay occupies third place in the RCL R John Mayberry Division at 85-58.
In the bottom of the first, Chandler Pardy delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Thunder Bay center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Lighting in front, 3-2.
Pardy told reporters after the game: "All's well that ends well."
