The Cabo San Lucas Toreros faced a tough opponent in El Paso pitcher Malik Combs, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Corral by a final score of 10-7. Combs went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Cabo San Lucas reliever Charlie Doane picked up the win to move to 2-0. Morgan Henn suffered the loss. Andy Carr was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.
Cabo San Lucas used the clutch hitting of Mark Greenwood to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Toreros the lead, 10-7. For the game, Greenwood had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Cabo San Lucas bumps their record to 35-64 with the win.
