5-2 Win Sends Victoria to 96-51
|
Normal got a terrific performance from pitcher Ruben Cruz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Victoria Totems. Victoria won the Royal Athletic Park contest, 5-2. Cruz came in in relief and pitched to 31 batters for the losing team. Travis Aldredge was credited with the save, his 3rd in 5 tries. The Totems have an impressive 96-51 record.
The Totems had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Victoria, with one out. Normal, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Mike Garza dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he flied out.
