Elliott Leads Mounties to Win
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Montreal Mounties and Dallas Texans.

The exploits of third baseman Chris Elliott, who finished 2nd in the TML in RBI with 128 last year, helped the Montreal Mounties defeat the Dallas Texans, 4-1. Elliott was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Greg Spivey, the winner, improved to 11-9. He held the Texans to 1 run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 1. Bill Wolfe, who leads the RCL in saves with 27, earned the save for Montreal.

Elliott had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Victor Lara, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Mounties a 4-1 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Elliott.

"It's fun when you can help the team win games," said Elliott.

Montreal has a record of 61-40, placing them first in the Roberto Clemente League International Division.
