Jazz Lose, 6-3, at Debris Field
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes besoiled an otherwise fine performance by West Island first baseman John Bernstein by beating the Jazz, 6-3, at Debris Field. Bernstein was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Dustin Booth earned save number 25 this season. The Tornadoes sit in 5th place in the Roberto Clemente League Central Division with a record of 48-53.
Ghaysun Azizi had a big 3-run home run for the Tornadoes in the bottom of the second inning. With Kansas City leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from two-time All-Star Sam Hickey and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Tornadoes on top, 4-0.
Azizi said his team "played with focus."
