Raucous Arnold Field Crowd Propels Pilots to 5-2 Victory; Series Tied at 3
|
The Jacksonville Pilots and the Vancouver Pioneers will take the Divisional Round to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Pilots beat the Pioneers, 5-2, at Arnold Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Jacksonville catcher John Stoecklin went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Vancouver had runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth. With two out, Kevin Julien stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 4-2, Jacksonville. The Pioneers never could mount a comeback.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Arnold Field in Jacksonville.
