Bloomington Pins 6-4 Loss on Montreal
|
Riding the 5-hit performance of right fielder Lateef Zitouna, the Bloomington Blazers got a road win against the Montreal Mounties, 6-4, in Game 2 of the ABL World Series. Zitouna went 5-5 with 2 doubles and 3 singles. He scored 4 times for the Blazers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Mark Coppage to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blazers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Zitouna.
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Arson Arena in Bloomington.
