The Vancouver Pioneers beat the San Francisco Earthquakes, 9-6, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Vancouver catcher Dave Beyer had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jose Cedano, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Vancouver currently is in second place in the Thurman Munson League West Division at 54-48.

Kevin Julien helped out the Vancouver cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4.

"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Beyer told a local reporter after the game.
