Edwards Shines in 9-3 Walnut Creek Win
Good production from right fielder Dan Edwards helped the Walnut Creek Warriors topple the Manhattan Slice, 9-3. Edwards went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Warriors. Walnut Creek pitcher John Driscoll got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Tom Simmons got the loss. The triumph makes Walnut Creek 7-3, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2063.

Kevin McArdle had a big run-scoring triple for the Warriors in the bottom of the first inning. With Walnut Creek leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Tom Simmons, who finished 2nd in the RCL in wins with 18 in 2057, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Warriors ahead, 2-0.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said McArdle after the game.
