The Havana Stogies withstood a fine game by Montreal shortstop Jesus Jasso at The Humidor, to upend the Mounties, 5-3. Jasso was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. Bryan Stanford earned the win to go to 8-10. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Havana has a record of 40-66, placing them last in the Roberto Clemente League International Division.

Juan Bahamon had a big run-scoring double for the Stogies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Havana leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Leonardo Cortez and swatted a double to left. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stogies ahead, 4-2.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Bahamon said after the game.
