Warriors Raise Rally Flag, Beat Bloomington, 4-2
|
Walnut Creek Warriors starter Matt White turned in an exceptional performance against the Bloomington Blazers at Arson Arena, resulting in a Walnut Creek win, 4-2. In 8 innings, White surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Russ Gilleo recorded the save, his 24th.
Walnut Creek used the timely hitting of Elijah McNeil to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Warriors on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," White told the Walnut Creek Bulletin.
With the win, Walnut Creek has a record of 71-35. Bloomington falls to 64-43.
