Big Day for Jasso as Mounties Down Texans, 9-2
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 27-year old shortstop Jesus Jasso, the Montreal Mounties stopped the Dallas Texans, 9-2. Montreal occupies second place in the Roberto Clemente League International Division at 61-48.

Jared Jones had a big 2-run home run for the Mounties in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Montreal leading 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Bobby Gilmore and punished it. The result was his 24th home run of the season, which put the Mounties on top, 5-2.

Said losing manager Lester Burrow: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
