West Island beat Eureka on the strength of starting pitcher Manny Domenech's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Domenech, now 2-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Early on, the Jazz, at 9-3, have played an impressive brand of baseball.

West Island used the timely hitting of Dave Ojeda to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Jazz on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Manny's a trooper," said West Island manager Pedro Gonzáles. "He always gives it all he's got."
