El Paso Earns 2-1 Win
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the El Paso Mavericks and Dallas Texans.
El Paso Mavericks pitcher Bret Naughton was in top form, leading his team past the Dallas Texans, 2-1. Morgan Henn recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 26 for 32.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Alex Velasco came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Mario Villegas, he hit a 1-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting El Paso on top, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo said.
The current losing streak for Dallas has reached 4 games.
