Blazers Snatch Late-Game, 2-1 Win
|
Milwaukee got a terrific performance from pitcher Jay Davis, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bloomington Blazers. Bloomington won the Arson Arena contest, 2-1. Davis threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Sergio Apodaca, credited with the win in relief, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. After today's action, Bloomington sits at 65-46; Milwaukee slips to 62-50.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Bloomington catcher Bryan Criner, facing Hamilton Thomas, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Blazers the 2-1 win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Criner said.
