The Walnut Creek Warriors soundly defeated the Vancouver Pioneers, 14-2, at Castlerock Field. Mike Duffy let his bat do the talking. He was 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs for Walnut Creek. Bruce Moreno was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he yielded 1 run on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Picking up the save was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Keith Sill.

Walnut Creek center fielder Dan Edwards contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 115th hit of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 2-0.
