Bloomington beat Chicago at Arson Arena, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Taylor Nunley. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Bloomington pitcher Jordan Curry got the win. He's now 1-1. Oscar Zegarra was tagged with the loss. The third-place Blazers are 53-44.
Nunley had a timely hit for Bloomington in the bottom of the seventh. With Bloomington trailing 4-3, he turned a 2-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Bloomington.
Nunley said his team "played with focus and determination."
