Elizabeth Town Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
The Kingwood Knights had no problem beating the Elizabeth Town Thunder, 12-1, at Valhalla Summit. Brian Stokes led the onslaught. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for Kingwood. Elizabeth Town is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 11 games.

Santos Monterrubio had a big 2-run double for the Knights in the top of the first inning. With Kingwood leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Willie Lopez and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 4-0.

"We've been playing some good baseball," Stokes told the Kingwood Bulletin. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
