Led by 18-year-old Aaron Knowles, the Brownsville Bandits downed the Nichols Gnats, 11-8. Knowles was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Brownsville. Brownsville pitcher Lorenzo Pagan got the win. He's now 7-0. Dustin Phillips was tagged with the loss. Jacob Allen earned the save for Brownsville, his 6th of the year.

Kyle Brunner delivered a big hit for Brownsville. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bandits ahead, 11-8. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Knowles.

At 87-57, the Bandits have a slim two-game lead in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division.
