Victory Takes Mavericks to 52-46
The El Paso Mavericks downed the Manhattan Slice, 5-1, at Copps Park. Stellar pitching by Alexis Ochoa had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 8th in the RCL in wins with 8, handcuffed his opponent all game. Ochoa got the win, improving to 8-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Mavericks win now puts them at 52-46.

El Paso won the game in part because of Osvaldo Pimentel. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mavericks ahead, 3-0. For the game, Pimentel had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Alexis did what Alexis does," said El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo.
