Ottawa shortstop Sergio Salinas had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the San Angelo Mustangs, 9-2. Their 91-55 record puts the Civics second in the TML A Earl Weaver Division.

Danny Romero had a big run-scoring double for the Civics in the bottom of the third inning. With Ottawa leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jesus Chavez and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Civics ahead, 3-1.

Salinas told a Ottawa Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
