St. Petersburg Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
The Hazleton Birdwings and St. Petersburg Pelicans completed their game despite the rain.

The exploits of left fielder Logan Schmeisser helped the Hazleton Birdwings defeat the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-2. Schmeisser was 2 for 2 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Tony Sarabia, number 2 for him.

With Hazleton leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Schmeisser hit a fastball from Kai-shek Yang for a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Birdwings ahead, 3-0.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said St. Petersburg manager Gilbert Drader.

St. Petersburg is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
