Castillo, Bush Wackers Clobber Princes, 12-2
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers had no problem beating the Bel Air Princes, 12-2, at Baylor Ballpark. Jose Castillo led the way. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for Brisbane. Picking up the win was Juan Velarde. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 4. Brisbane is now 67-83, while Bel Air is 81-69.
With Brisbane leading 8-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Castillo came up to bat against Bel Air pitcher Gabe Thompson. Castillo hit a fastball to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 20th home run of the season put the Bush Wackers on top, 11-2.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Bel Air manager Greg England. "We got trounced."
