Baker Belts 2 Homers in 8-4 Win
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Robby Baker, the Niagara Falls Barrels defeated the Bel Air Princes, 8-4. Baker was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Barrels. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Vertiz. He tossed 137 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits. Niagara Falls is third in the RCL A Dusty Baker Division with a record of 81-70.
With Niagara Falls leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Baker hit a changeup from Gustavo Castro for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Barrels ahead, 3-0.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Baker told the Niagara Falls Daily.
