The Hornets earned a hard-fought, 7-6 win in 10 innings at The Nest. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Mexico City pitcher Duane Alcock. Alcock went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Tim Woodlock notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 3-3. Eureka is now 74-41.

The decisive blow was delivered by Paul Depew in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Wallace to win the game for Eureka. The home crowd went nuts.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Depew.
