Eugene Topples Bel Air, 10-5
|
Bel Air right fielder Chris Ferris had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Ferris went 1-1 with a home run, 3 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs, even as Eugene beat the Princes, 10-5. Eugene pitcher Yukihiro Morimoto got the win, upping his record to 4-0. Will Williamson got the loss. The win makes Eugene 84-72.
Eugene second baseman Hichori Yamada contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 115th hit of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 8-2.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Yamada told the Eugene Observer.
