Birdwings Lose Again, 4-3, to Gnats
|
The Nichols Gnats picked up a win at Road Warriors Field, knocking off the Hazleton Birdwings, 4-3. Starting pitcher David Torres was a big reason why. Torres yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-8. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Hazleton.
Gene Andrews, who is tied for 10th in the TA with a .429 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Andrews contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Nichols up, 3-0.
