Sting Earn 4-3 Home Win

The Houston Sting beat the Victoria Vikings, 4-3. Houston pitcher and Joppatowne, Maryland, native Brendan Loos led the way. Loos got the win, improving to 6-4. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The save was credited to Carey Leblanc, his 11th.
Hector Villa had a big 3-run home run for the Sting in the bottom of the first inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Chris Cox, who is tied for 8th in the TA with a 10.1 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Sting on top, 4-0.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Loos.
The win makes Houston 64-93.
