Griffin Propels Tallahassee Offense in 11-3 Rout
The Tallahassee Captains picked up a win, 11-3, over the Fairfield Flash at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Jerry Griffin led the charge. The North Attleborough Center, Massachusetts native was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for Tallahassee. Jonathan Millsap, the winning pitcher, improved to 14-7. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4. Bill Cordoba earned the save for Tallahassee, his 1st of the year.

In the top of the first, 21-year old center fielder Jason Whimster hit a 2-run double. The 30th double of the season for the Tallahassee center fielder put the Captains on top, 2-0.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Griffin told the Tallahassee Today.

The Captains are now 76-67.
