Memphis starter Jon Wambach pitched well against the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-3. Wambach, who is tied for 3rd in the RAAA in complete games with 7, went the distance for Memphis. He gave up 3 runs on 11 hits. The Privateers improved their record to 76-71 with the win over Fort Worth.

Memphis center fielder Fergus Fisher contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 112nd hit of the season and put the Privateers ahead, 1-0.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Wambach.
