Mottola belts 2 home runs as Beaches Squeeze Past Anchorage
The Anchorage Moose and Cozumel Beaches provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Cozumel Beaches picked up a win, 4-3, over the Anchorage Moose at Moose's Tooth Field. Aaron Mottola led the charge. The Hampton, Virginia native was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Cozumel. The winning pitcher was Jason Weiss. He's now 4-0. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits for the Beaches. Jack Anthony earned the save, his 2nd, for the Beaches.

Mottola had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Carlos Munoz, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Beaches a 4-3 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Mottola.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Cozumel manager Masato Takagi. "It's usually not just one thing."

With the win over Anchorage, the Beaches improved to 74-78.
