Pilots Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Jacksonville Pilots and the Buffalo Bison played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Pilots won it, 4-3, in 10 innings. In the game, Jacksonville third baseman John Popper went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win belonged to Luis Moreno in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Steve Hoefling took the loss for Buffalo. Picking up his 35th save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Tyler Martin.
Jacksonville used the timely hitting of Jeremy Domanski to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pilots on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Ryan Currie.
Jacksonville now sits at 69-48, while Buffalo falls to 55-61.
