Eureka beat West Island on the strength of starting pitcher Justin Soule's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. The win went to Matt Acrey in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ernesto Herrera took the loss. Eureka has a record of 8-4.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Eureka. That's when 21-year old first baseman Robby Helt hit a 2-run home run off Ernesto Herrera to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"This team keeps finding a way to win," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
