The Walnut Creek Warriors locked up a win at Castlerock Field, knocking off the Seattle Sasquatch, 5-3. On the mound for Walnut Creek was right-hander Bruce Moreno. He played a major role in the triumph. Riley Adams was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Dave Foster. Russ Gilleo notched his 28th save in 31 chances.
Had Elijah McNeil not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, McNeil hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Warriors.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Moreno.
Walnut Creek improves to 79-38 with the win. They lead their division by 17½ games.
